As a stand alone Collette’s Diary is an excellent read and compliments the other two books in The Prince of Blood Chronicles .
The author held my attention from start to finish. PJ Webb has excelled herself again researching the historical lives of a Courtesan when Kings had numerous mistresses. Although fiction this story gives you a hint of what goes on behind those royal doors.
Colette is sent away by her mother at the tender age of fourteen, into a life she never dreamt she would have to use her beauty to survive. When her innocence is torn from her, she fights back with a new strength and knowledge, and the will to survive against all odds. When her life suddenly takes an unexpected turn into an immortal dark world, bringing more twists and turns for her to overcome.
