“Before she had a chance to step away from her car, a strong arm wrapped around her waist and a damp cloth was clamped tightly over her mouth. She dropped her purse, keys, and sweater and everything went dark.

What happens next will cause your blood to run cold, but you will not stop turning the pages because the sleuth in you will want answers. Cold Coffee Press/Café’ endorses Midnight Owl (Joe Leverette Mystery Book One) by Viv Drewa as a mystery suspense thriller.” Five Stars

VivRemakeEbook

“This highly suspenseful, well-written murder mystery opens with a grizzly, horrific murder that gives nightmares to several people not related to the murder in any way. Likable, believable characters draw the reader into the nightmare, while the baffled but competent police work feverishly to stop the killer before he kills again. I highly recommend this book.” Ms. Drewa write faster! Five Stars Highly Suspenseful.

Is This Publisher Legit? How You Can Make Your Decision – by Derek Haines…

Chris The Story Reading Ape's avatarChris The Story Reading Ape's Blog

on Just Publishing Advice:

How can you decide what a publishing company is offering you?

One of the most common questions we receive from our readers is, “Is X, Y or Z publisher legit?

There are a lot of ways an author can publish, but if you receive an unsolicited offer from a publishing company or publishing service, you should be very careful.

It is extremely rare for reputable publishers or a literary agent representing a traditional publishing house to contact an author with a publishing offer unless the author has celebrity status.

The only route a new author has to get a traditional publishing contract is to query literary agents, and if your luck is in, you might find a reputable agent to represent you.

Nowadays, the most common route to take to get a book published is to self-publish with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, Smashwords or Draft2Digital.

The last option is to use a vanity publisher.

BELIEVE! Do Not Pay Someone to Publish Your Book! ALLI Agrees.

vanderso's avatarJust Can't Help Writing

Your book ready to publish--dreamscape! Dreams of publication? Yes!

Here’s support from ALLI, the Alliance of Independent Authors, for my claim that you SHOULD NEVER PAY SOMEONE TO PUBLISH YOUR BOOK. Yes, there are some reputable book packagers out there who will charge you for various services, but the chances that you will make back what they charge you are slim. YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF. This ALLI article explains why it is so easy to fall for vanity scams. Here’s an important quote:

Many vanity presses will try to persuade authors that they are incapable of producing a professional book without an expensive full-service publishing package. This is particularly effective on authors who may not be comfortable with new technology; the idea of handing off the details of publishing to someone who will take care of it for you is alluring.

Do not be fooled. You can start your book off with a…
