The Internet has made writers of us all. Grammarly analyzed over one billion words proofread by their popular writing app over the course of one month and uncovered some fascinating insights, including the least error-prone time to write.
Insights
- There’s a prime time for drafting emails. Our research shows you’re at your best between the hours of 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.
- People made an average of 13 mistakes per 100 words when writing email.
- By comparison, they made 39 mistakes per 100 words when writing social media posts, but only 6.5 when writing blog posts.
- Watch your spelling! Misspelled words account for more than half of all email mistakes.
- We write better in the morning. Early birds writing between 4 and 8 a.m. made 18% fewer mistakes than those writing between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
