Blog Tour

I was invited by Annie Edmonds to take part in the writing process blog tour that was started by author Regina Puckett. It’s purpose is to showcase different authors methods all over the world.

Annie is an amazing woman and a wonderful author her books are; Second Chances Sammy’s story available on Amazon.  And she writes her blogs on WordPress, http://aedmonds315.wordpress.com and http://naplesmarketreport.wordpress.com/. If you get a chance you should check out these books and blogs.

Tour questions:

Q) What am I working on?
Right now I’m working on a novel that is out of my original theme. Only in that it doesn’t take place in South America. The research for their police procedures is too vague so I chose my local area. But there is an owl in it, all my novels will have an owl.  This novel is a paranormal murder mystery.

Q) How does my work differ from others of the same genre?
I try to write something that’s really different, as close to ‘out of the box’ as I can. This is also the kind of novel I love to read.
Q) Why do I write what I do?
It all came from doing a lot of reading when I was younger. Ghost stories, thrillers, action/adventure, horror were all part of my reading regimen. I still remember the first novel I read that sparked my interest to write. “The Whistling Sword” by British author Robert James Green amazed my 8 year old imagination. I’d like to get a copy of that novel just to have as a keepsake.
Q) How does your writing process work?
First I plan the story I want to tell. Then I do whatever research I need to get the story told in a believable way. Next comes the characters. Until I read an article by Patrick Scalisi  in the publication The Writer I had trouble with this. He recommended writing a feature about each character and this worked. So I interview the characters and that helps keep them from straying, for the most part.
