“Cool” read, July 2, 2014
By Philip Nork “author of ‘real life fiction'”
This review is from: Spirit Me Away: A Gus LeGarde Mystery (LeGarde Mysteries Book 8) (Kindle Edition)
1969, Massachusetts. The sexual revolution and free drugs rain throughout the area. Elsbeth and Gus are teenagers, just married. One night while looking off their balcony they see a young girl, their age, sitting on a bench crying. Instead of ignoring, this loving couple go see what’s wrong. The girl doesn’t remember anything, but her guitar case has a tag saying the name Valerie and they assume that is her name.
This is the beginning of a mystery book that caught my interest right from the start and never let it go. As Valerie searches her mind for her past, Elsbeth and Gus live for the future. But what will the future bring to them?
I’m not a spoiler type of reviewer, so I’ll just say this book was fun to read, brought back good memories of music that is long gone and threw in a mystery too.
This is my first read by Aaron Lazar but probably won’t be my last. Nice job!
