Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming and listening to National Book Award “5 Under 35” author, Josh Weil read from his debut novel, The Great Glass Sea! The Statesman Selects pick for July, The Great Glass Sea is a great summer read of love, loss, and light, set in an alternative present-day Russia.

After the event, we were lucky enough to catch up with Josh and ask about some of his recommended reads. Normally, we only get five, but thankfully Josh, like all great writers, knew when to break the rules. Here are six great book recommendations from Josh Weil.

The Immigrants by Howard Fast
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurty
Close Range: Wyoming Stories by Annie Proulx
Rock Springs by Richard Ford
Returning to Earth by Jim Harrison
In the Course of Human Events by Mike Harvkey

Signed copies of The Great Glass Sea are now available…
