…a wee self-indulgent detour from my normal style of blog content today… I’m sure most of yeez have seen the header phrase above at some time or other… a half a lifetime ago, in the early eighties, this ol’ Jurassic was given mere weeks to live by doctors in a hospital in Singapore… I’m not about to detail the whys and wherefores of that time, but suffice to say, surviving the episode left me with a profoundly different take on the WURLD and all its ails… personal perspective changed 180 degrees… there was no blinding epiphany, or dramatic conversion to a specified religion, for example… I leave that for others to experience should they so desire… I attempt to proselytise no-one… ever… I can just tell yeez I only deal in two types of day todaygood days and better days… even if my a*se is falling off…

Viv Drewa is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan, her passion has always been writing. She had been awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland.
