I enjoyed this film, though I accept its biased. Its particularly interesting from a writers perspective as it is penned by Aaron Sorkin, known by most for the West Wing. I’ve tried a few times to get into his stuff, but his one voice fits all and its smarter than everyone else always kind of irked me. In the time honoured tradition of film the writer’s voice was subsumed by the directors, but in this instance it worked. It allowed the individuality of the actor – for which we can read character – to bleed through and shape the words. So the clever words, especially given the idea that these are very clever boys, worked to enhance rather than drown the emotion.
