Michael Z. Gordon is one of America’s most prolific songwriters and will be the Producer for the Falling Waters movie, adapted from Gary D. Henry’s book Falling Waters.
Michael wrote his first hit song, Surfer’s Stomp almost immediately after he formed the Mar-kets. He toured with them until he decided to form a new group, The Routers. He went back into the studio and recorded the national hit song, Let’s Go! by the Routers. This song has been heard at nearly every sporting event in America since its release. Whenever the crowd chants the term “Let’s Go!” at a baseball or football game, you now know who created it.
A year later, he went back with the Mar-kets and wrote the smash hit, Outer Limits, which went to #1 in the nation and earned him his first BMI award for instrumental of the year.
He teamed up with Jimmy Griffin and wrote over sixty songs which resulted in over one hundred recordings including Apologize by Ed Ames, which earned him his second BMI award.
Michael composed music and was producer for movies and TV including Pulp Fiction (1994), Ally McBeal (1997), _”The Wonder Years” (1988), _”Everybody Loves Raymond”_ (1996)_ and the Tom Hanks HBO series, _, “From the Earth to the Moon” (1998) (mini)_. Gordon’s roster of movie productions include Narc (2002), Shortcut to Happiness (2003), In Enemy Hands (2004), _The Outsiders (2005 version)_ and Mafioso: The Father, the Son (2004), a multiple award-winning film with won the Audience Choice Award and the PFWC Award for best editing.
Michael has registered over 189 written songs through Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) and over 30 through The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Over 110 artists have covered his songs. Many will recognize songs like Outer Limits, the theme from the Batman series, Secret Agent Man, and many others. He has also won two international music awards and is credited with the discovery of actress Demi Moore and musician and singer Michael Bolton.
