The Dark Forest: Literature, Philosophy, and Digital Arts
I do not think pain will touch me today.
The blue sea of clouds is sailing my way.
I feel the rise and fall of their white sails,
The power of light upon their fragrant spray.
I walk among the silver linings of this day,
The overcast dismayed of me breaks away;
Yet, in this dream we both agree to this task:
I first a lay of love, she enchantment’s sway.
Each time I pass this way I see her riding,
Her hair like a thousand rivers sparkling;
And I am lost among her sea-green eyes,
Like a foam dazed weanling triton’s blaze.
If ever I awaken from this mourning enchantress,
You’ll find me in the garden planting her rowans;
One more seed of love in memory of her bright life,
To fold into the dark loam of this earth’s old strife.
