Your days are numbered Mr. Capital,
you’ve fretted with the market,
stolen from the poor to line your pocket,
and now the aftermath is clear,
and judgment day is here. Are you ready?
……………………………………Are you happy?

We’ve seen you down on Wall-Street,
smiling so wide you cried at your Banker.
We’ve watched you in the sky
in that Lear jet you so take pride in,
and the caviar nights across the sea of stars,
and starlets that you’ve discovered
love your taste in wine and diamonds;
so tell us Mr. Capital are you having fun,
have you found that sex and murder
all they told you it would give you
in those Sunday tea-books of self-help
you read all those years ago. Disgusting!

Viv Drewa is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan, her passion has always been writing. She had been awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland. Later, she rewrote this story and was published in the "Polish American Journal" as "From the Pages of Grandfather's Life" and has republished it on Amazon.com as a short story.
