REMEMBERING: Robin Williams on Happy Days

Williams on happy days

When we lost Robin Williams I felt like I lost my best friend. Someone who could make me laugh until my sides hurt. He was an extremely talented man.

He brought to life many lovable characters with his magical comedy and acting. Those who worked with him said he had exceptional timing and was even allowed to ad lib his parts. One article I read said the shooting script would have the dialogue and then “Robin do something”. This allowed him to show the amount of talent he had.

Every Monday I will be posting a special blog in his memory which will feature each of his TV shows and movies in which he treated us with his magnificent talent.

The first one will cover his two appearance in “Happy Days”.

The first episode of “Happy Days” Williams appeared on was “My Favorite Orkan” which aired on February 28, 1978, season 5, episode 22. This episode Richie Cunnigham sees a flying saucer and nobody believes him. During a birthday party for Marion, Richie’s mother, Mork shows up and freezes everyone but Richie so he can talk to him and learn about human beings in a gentler time. Mork tries to take Richie back to Ork to show what average human beings are like.

The second episode Williams appeared on was “Mork Returns” which aired March 6, 1979, season 6, episode 24. Mork returns to learn about dating rituals of ย humans. Fonze introduces Mork to Laverne and the meeting is unbelievable funny.
