…what’s a few Amazon red and blue squiggles between friends on an Author’s Sales pages?…

‘if a picture paints a thousand WURDS’, goes the old ballad from yesteryear… and for a quill-scraper NUTHIN beats seeing yer masterpieces being sold or borrowed, as reflected on the recently introduced new-style Amazon sales pages… the red squiggly bits show sales, blue lines the borrows, and if yeez are into doing Amazon Free Promo stuff, they flash that up in green… as far as this ol’ Jurassic is concerned, I’ll take any colour of the rainbow yeez choose… coz no matter what the colour, every line, every spike, big, small or medium, represents a new reader or readers… a fresh eyeballing of my WURK… over the past few years at this self-publishing gig, l’ve become ever so slightly less obsessed with checking the figures (only slightly less, I said), but, a wee daily peek at them is always part of the day… and what a…

Viv Drewa is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan, her passion has always been writing. She had been awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland. Later, she rewrote this story and was published in the "Polish American Journal" as "From the Pages of Grandfather's Life" and has republished it on Amazon.com as a short story.
