A little about yourself, i.e., your education, family life, etc.: I’ve always been involved in writing, but I have a lot of other interests, such as studying world history and astronomy. Making beer was my side job while I went through college at UMass Boston, then I worked in international sales for a local record company called Rounder. I eventually started a graduate certificate program at Harvard Extension School, then started working there as a production editor for a small publishing office while I continued my education there, earning a master’s in literature and creative writing in 2008. After 15 years of working at Harvard, I changed careers and now work for a non-profit start-up that focuses on research for type 1 diabetes.
