…Age-ism for Authors? …never!… we’re all Peter Pans and Petra Pans…

…don’t let emb’dy ever claim yeez are to old to be doing stuff… when I was an infant growing up in Docklands Govan in Glasgow, ‘old people’ constituted men and women who had reached the heady age of 20+… then as I progressed into my teens, the upper barrier for the ‘venerables’ moved on to about 40+… by the time my own longevity had stretched to 45, I no longer even thought about ‘age’ as an issue… funny that, coz I can remember back in the Govan days observing many people who ‘wore’ their advancing age like some heavy burden… their step was slower… their actions and even speech patterns lapsed into parentheses of laboured sighs… walking sticks for otherwise healthy folk seemed almost like mandatory implements when they reached the half-century

Viv Drewa is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan, her passion has always been writing. She had been awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland.
