Bloodlight seeps from the hole in the sky,
Silver serenity swallowed,
Sucked into the void,
Where no starlight shines a path
To guide the wanderings of dead souls,
And their murmurings echo
From the brazen roof of the hollow sky.
No red berries this side of the veil,
No magic in sweet juice and leaping silver fish.
In the net of night, cast red and bloody,
Nothing squirms but muffled hope,
Despair drags earthward, and darkness deepens,
In the bloodlight, where no moon shines.
