Highway To Hell 2 or Why Did This Take 5 Years?

In September 2010 I released Highway To Hell, a brutally extreme zombie novella. Really brutal. My wife won’t read it and I can’t blame her at this point. I’ve recently rewritten it and toned down the really crazy stuff in it and it fits much better in my Dying Days world.

So I wrote a sequel. Five years later. In the meantime I released about a hundred different things and got well past writing such graphic stories.

The challenge of writing a sequel so many years later and once you’ve established your real writing voice is the idea to throw the original in the garbage and start over, which time did not permit. Am I proud of the original? Of course. Especially now that I’ve made some major corrections to it and kept the story but changed…

Viv Drewa is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan, her passion has always been writing. She had been awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland. Later, she rewrote this story and was published in the "Polish American Journal" as "From the Pages of Grandfather's Life" and has republished it on Amazon.com as a short story.
