Writer’s Block is a Myth

The definition of myth is “a widely held but false belief or idea”.

I once thought that “writer’s block” was something that every writer faced and I fell into the misnomer that it must be true. Why? Well, because when you hear something enough times from enough people then your mind assimilates it that it must be true.

How did I break this cycle? To be honest, it was through the power of prayer. Yes, you heard me. Let me be as clear and concise as possible. A person of faith prayed over me and declared in the name of Jesus that writer’s block would never occur again in my life. This happened to me at a church service in December 2010. The Pastor called up all writers as she felt that God wanted to do something. I went up to the front as I was struggling for over 20 years with my first book. She prayed over, prophecied over, and declared over each person specific words she heard from God. When she came to me it was a truly supernatural experience. I felt the presence of God and this is the kicker everyone…I agreed with what she was saying in my spirit…in the deepest part of me.

You see, you can receive prayer but it takes agreement inside of you to truly receive it. You can argue or dismiss it and in essence block what is trying to set you free. You end up creating your own writer’s block. After the prayer, I had such a hunger to write and ideas flooded inside of me like never before. My first book, The Orb of Truth, was written in 6 months. My sequel was written in 6 months and this carried on into my 3^rd of the series. I have so many ideas now that it is now a different battle, which story do I start with to write? It is so freeing to have broken the myth and now I am one who prays over others around the world to be set free in their writing career.

In 2016, I will release my 2^nd children’s book and will be writing a couple different books behind that. I will be also leading a “Kingdom Writer’s Conference” with notables such as William Paul Young of The Shack that has sold over 20 million copies and Academy Award winner Peter Berkos who has written several books and has done sound editing for over 300 Hollywood projects in his career. There will be Pastor’s as well who have written powerful books. We will have groups throughout San Diego meeting and critiquing each other’s works. There will be larger gatherings to keep everyone encouraged and to continue to pull heaven to earth through the written word. It will be a movement like nothing we have ever seen before.

I am a Christian author and proud of it. I encourage people around the world to pursue their writing career whether they are a believer in Jesus or not. Write what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, and do it all in excellence. Bring what is praise worthy to the world and let the people of this world dwell on the words that will lead them to hope.

There are stories in heaven that God wants to release into the world we live but He is waiting for someone to pray to Him and say, “Yes, let it be me to write that story.”
