Very well written. The author does a wonderful job of portraying young teens starting eighth grade, trying to cope with emerging emotions like first love(a first kiss thrown in for good measure), jealousy, betrayal, friction with older siblings, etc. There’s even a mystery to be solved. The main character is Gabby. She’s had the cruel joke of her locker being defaced with another hurtful saying for the fourth year in a row. She has a best friend, Dana, and an awkward classmate, Mitch who fawns over her, and a new dreamboat exchange student, Ben, who is attracted to her.
Her friends all try to figure out who is responsible for the locker graffiti without much success. A school dance sorts…
