You don’t see job adverts for literary assistants very often so when I saw this one from a major London Literary Agent on twitter today I thought it was worth posting here.
Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV & Film agency are searching for a creative and highly-motivated literary assistant with at least one year’s relevant experience.
The role is ideal for:
“someone embarking on a career in publishing with a long-term desire to work in the industry.”
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): assisting all agency staff where needed,
reading and reporting on manuscripts,
scheduling,
office administration,
communicating with clients,
answering the telephone, updating the website and agency social media,
processing royalty statements and managing book fair administration.
