Stephen Colbert issued another call-to-arms on his show last night as he continues to wage his war against the online retailer that’s holding Hachette books hostage as part of a dispute over terms.
California, the upcoming novel by Edan Lupecki, is currently not available to pre-order from Amazon as a result of a dispute that has absolutely nothing to do with Lupecki or her brilliant new novel about life in an eerie, disturbing, post-apocalyptic near-future. Not willing to see a debut novel turned to dust by a corporate struggle that prohibits access to books, Colbert has encouraged everyone to go out and pre-order California from a local bookstore and make it #1 on the New York Times bestseller list when it hits shelves on July 8th.
