Dark Corridors (Dark Journeys Trilogy Book 2) by Charles Justus Garard

dark corridors

Harper Paget destroyed some of the deadly creatures menacing Atlanta in DARK NEIGHBORHOODS, the powerful dimension-traveling entities known as the Lamiae (ancient Greece) and Kuntilanak (Indonesia). However, he lost his wife and close friends, including an Indonesian love interest killed by one of the creatures while she traveled in China. In DARK CORRIDORS, Harper travels to Indonesia and then to China where he works, for a short time, in a university that has an exchange program with his home campus at McAbee University in Illinois, USA. After a violent attack against him and his students in a Chinese surgical operating room, he loses that position. He transfers to another Chinese university and moves into a campus hotel that becomes haunted by the mind-twisting ancient creatures. His French friend, Pierre, offers sage advice and support in the war against the Kunti (as Pierre calls them). Geraldine, Harper’s untrustworthy lady friend, is thrown through a vortex, time-traveling back to Harper’s hometown of Warrick when Harper is a high school student. Pierre is visited by a young lady from Warrick who has reached China through the same Kunti-generated vortex. When Pierre and his girlfriend Christabel and Violet, another student, join Harper in the haunted hotel, Christabel’s mind is manipulated by the Kunti, and she visits not only a California beach in the past where she sees an incarnation of Harper’s witch ancestor but also Warrick in the past when Geraldine is trapped there. Harper and his friends must traverse the multi-national, multi-dimensional terrain in their battle with the deadly lamiae (able to take on the appearances of the kuntilanak) who are intent upon occupying this planet that humans have not taken care of. The problem for us is that we don’t always know if all the characters — including Harper — are who they appear to be. Nowhere are we safe . . . not in the past. . . not in our dreams . . . and not in the dark corridors of the haunted hotel.

Nowhere are we safe… not in the past… not in our dreams and not in the dark corridors of the haunted hotel – time to get behind the sofa……
