5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Gus LeGarde Mystery!, August 27, 2014

This review is from: Lady Blues: forget-me-not: A Gus LeGarde Mystery (LeGarde Mysteries Book 10) (Kindle Edition)
As in Lazar’s previous Gus LeGarde mystery series, this one hits the ground running, literally. The action is intense and the story features both chilling events and sweet, interesting developments. LeGarde fans will be pleased to reunite with Gus’ extended family, which is growing still larger.

The opening action finds Gus, aided by his lovable brother-in-law, Siegfried, as they rescue a woman from a burning building. This woman has a secret past, and will need all the love and support the LeGardes can supply to move forward with her life. Gentle Siegfried is especially helpful.

Having struck up a friendship over music with an elderly Alzheimer’s patient at a local nursing home, Gus is intrigued by the man’s rapidly returning memories of his fascinating past. A new drug seems to be working wonders to help Alzheimer’s patients…until it doesn’t, and they begin to regress.

Gus is up against a puzzling mystery once again and has some first-rate help from unexpected sources. This thriller has a tender, romantic story within the story. With several plots going in assorted directions, Gus has his hands full. LeGarde fans will find this book well up to the standards of the series. With his gifted storytelling ability, Aaron Paul Lazar brings together the assorted fibers of the story, tying them up in a most satisfying way.
