Remembering Robin Williams: The World According to Garp

maxresdefault

“The World According to Garp” fared better than “Popeye” for Robin Williams but still didn’t launch his movie career. But Williams was not a quitter and brought other memorable movies to us.

Garp, the illegitimate son of Jenny Fields, grew up interested in wrestling and fictional writing. His writing attracts the daughter of the wrestling coach but at the same time she’s put off by his promiscuous behavior.

We follow Garp as his warped view of sex interferes with his life and marriage.

  1. You’re very welcome, Olga. I love everything Robin Williams had done. I’m going to feature each of his movies every week. I started with “Happy Days” and “Mork and Mindy” since that’s where he got his start. @v@ ❤

  2. I love the novel (I love John Irving in general) but it’s been a long time since I watched the movie. I should try and find it again. Thanks Viv!
