What to do after completing my Ph.D.? Well, I began writing. What did I write about? Well I was watching a special on the Discovery channel about the multiverse theory and thought about writing a science fiction book with characters living vastly different lives in different dimensions. I discussed my ideas with my niece, Julia, who was considering going to graduate school for theoretical physics before she unfortunately passed away two years ago from complications of her juvenile arthritis. Everyone loved her and misses her to this day. But I always hope to feel her presence through my story.
After I finished my first book, I still had more stories for Jane, Randy, and Anton. So I began Books 2 and 3, where I developed their characters further, as well as the characters of Maggie and Tina who ended up also having significant roles. Promoting it has been a ride unlike anything else, where I met other authors, actors, and musicians on the way, as well as my trusted and beautiful assistant, Jessica Sawa (Jessi). These days, I am writing poetry and began a fairy tale. And before I grow up to be a writer, I am a biostatistician at Northwestern University where I have worked while completing my doctorate at UIC. I do love my biostatistics work and feel very fortunate to collaborate with renowned investigators working at the forefront of groundbreaking research.
I also enjoy going to concerts, plays, and movies with my family and friends and still hope to take them to an Order movie someday, perhaps directed by my nephew, Mark Helenowski, an independent filmmaker here in Chicago. In the meanwhile, I am happy whenever I learn that someone likes my work and will continue to share with anyone who would wish to be part of my many worlds.

“..authors, actors, and musicians along the way” sounds like you’re frolicking with the pick of the litters. Multiverse theory with different lives is intriguing. (Amazing how many writers were in research at one point of another. Puzzles, mysteries, analysis and creating jumps from one to the other?)
