Rocks of New Hampshire!

There are more rocks than we residents of New Hampshire care to have. Each time we dig in our yards we hit more rocks, some small some large. Before houses can be built blasting takes place in many areas. I had to have that done to a house I had built years ago. I still had large rocks all around my yard that were too large and heavy to be taken away.

New Hampshire is known as the Granite State. Granite is our state rock. Besides granite NH is also home to other rocks, gems and minerals such as beryl and smoky quartz. Smoky quartz is the NH state gem.

There are plenty of places to go rock climbing or just walking on trails to find unusual and pretty rocks in New Hampshire. A trip to the mountains is one way to feel the freedom, smell the cleanโ€ฆ
