Secret Cargo is an action thriller based on treasure looted during World War Two.
The book opens with an intriguing prologue from 1943. German officer Franz Kaltman steals bullion and art from already plundered hoards. He has it taken aboard a U-boat and heads for Caracas, but the submarine is attacked and presumed to be sunk off of the South American coastline.
In present time, Alan Patterson and Benny Marowitz are searching records, looking for clues to the whereabouts of the lost submarine and the cache it contained. There follows a drawn-out plot involving the duo, Alan’s sibling, a pair of treasure seekers and a South American money launderer.
The hunt for the treasure takes the players to a remote shoreline, where the threat of a hurricane makes them race to raise the submarine, only to find the prize missing.
