Holiday Reads Part 2 #TheOtherWoman #IfIDieBeforeIWake

jorobertson2015's avatarmychestnutreadingtree

The last two books that make up my holiday reads from Greece are two of the books that I bought in my Amazon Giftcard Challenge and I have to start by saying that I couldn’t have picked two better books!

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones

When Emily meets Adam she knows he is the One.

That together they can deal with anything that is thrown at them.

But lurking in the shadows is another woman, Pammie.

Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose his mother.

There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants . . .

My review…

OMG!! THIS BOOK!! Yes I’m doing the capital letter/exclamation mark thing again which means that I BLOODY LOVED THIS BOOK! Honestly, this is the best 99p I have spent recently…

Hidebound Hump Day — Cornelis Drebbel 3.1

Copper w ChalkboardWelcome to Hidebound Hump Day!  I call it hidebound because Victorians are sometimes described that way.  It might be hard to decide who the “hero” of this story is, but everything revolves around Cornelis Drebbel.

I suppose Cornelis is a bit of a tortured soul, due to the accident of alchemy that put him in the unusual state I gave this fictional version of the real life scientist.  With that segue, I’m going to digress for a moment.  Here’s a congratulatory shout-out to Staci Troilo who has just launched a new book!  Tortured Soul is the latest in her fabulous Medici Protectorate series. Be sure to check it out.

Tortured Soul PromoBack to business… Thanks for being at the station for this rerun of Copper, the Alchemist, and the Woman in Trousers — a steampunk serial with a Victorian setting.  I’m posting episodes twice a week, so I hope…

The Woman Who Met Her Match by Fiona Gibson @AvonBooksUK @FionaGibson

51PS51xUW9L.jpgBook Description:

After yet another disaster, Lorrie is calling time on online dating. She might be single in her forties, but she’s got a good job, wonderful children and she’s happy. This, Lorrie decides, is going to have to be enough.

That is, until she receives a very unexpected request from France. Antoine Rousseau, who had once turned a lonely French exchange trip into a summer of romance, wants to see her – after thirty years.

But Lorrie is a responsible woman. She can’t exactly run off to Nice with the man who broke her teenage heart . . . can she?

My Thoughts:

Lorrie is a wonderful character. She has two grown up children and is trying the dating scene again which doesn’t seem to be going terribly well. Being in my forties also, there was a lot that I could relate to in Lorrie’s life. Apart from the…

The Complete Guide to Ebook Distribution – by Reedsy…

Chris The Story Reading Ape's avatarChris The Story Reading Ape's Blog

At Reedsy, our goal has always been to help authors through every stage of the publishing process, from the actual writing down to the marketing and promotion. However, if there’s one thing our marketplace can’t do, it’s the actual publishing of the book. By that, I mean pressing the button that puts your book up for sale on Amazon — and other retailers.

Ebook distribution is a complex, ever-evolving topic. For example, a major ebook publishing platform, Pronoun, shut down no longer than last week at the time of this writing. To make authors’ lives easier, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about ebook publishing platforms in this guide.
