The following excerpt is from Chapter Eight of Conduct Unbecoming. The men in my books talk like my sons, as that’s the example I’ve seen on a daily basis. They may be friends, but they aren’t averse to slamming one another. Teague’s cousin, Joel, has a car that the other men hate. He loves it and isn’t ashamed of his bright blue Civic.
After breakfast, the men went outside for a smoke. None of them did it very often, but this seemed like the occasion to indulge. Not only that, they wanted to talk about their women.
“Teague, dude, you missed out not having sex with Nadeya,” Jasper said. “I’ve had it good before, but da-yam!”
“I beat your record, cuz,” Joel said.
