London – June 19th, 1988
Friends seem to be taking over my life at the moment. I had to sit in on Phil’s disciplinary hearing at Selfridges on Friday. The guy is in bits over being suspended. He may be a few years younger than me, but I feel as if he’s treating me as he would his dad. I do feel sorry for him, but there’s not much I can do other than sit in on his hearing and try and support him as best I can. This has to be the first time that a younger man is looking up to me as a ‘dad’ figure. It’s a bizarre feeling.
