“How’s your day been?”
“Sitting my ass in the airport waiting for a flight that got delayed by weather. Fog in San Francisco. Are we surprised?”
I laughed a little. “Not really?”
“My sister set up a rental for me. She can’t hang around all night waiting. She’s furious with me. Like it’s my fault.”
“Women—we’re illogical. Surely you know you control the weather in the Bay Area, Jeremy.”
“Oh, forgot about that. Let me wave my dick and clear it up.” He chuckled. “Upset the old lady down the row. She just walked to the other side of the lounge.”
“Not even in San Francisco and already causing trouble?”
“I know, right? I’m bad news, baby.”
“I miss you so much,” I blurted.
He sighed. “Me too. I promised myself a clean break. Even went cold turkey and managed to not call you for—oh—fifteen hours?” He laughed at himself.
