I WALK ALONE

Susanne Leist's avatarSUSANNE LEIST

I walk alone.

In dead silence.

The wind flees.

The moon hides.

I walk alone.

Death is my companion.

Fear is my weapon.

Hell is my home.

I walk alone.

Writerly Things…8/12/18

It’s been a busy week. I’ve been working on getting my manuscript ready for PitchWars, failing that, submission. It’s working out better than I thought and I’m fixing the problems I noticed along the way. For me, I had a problem with description. As in, too much of it. I had to go in and pare down. Another issue is too many new characters in each chapter. Mine is a big world, there’s a lot but I cut out as many as I could. There will be time in future books, to introduce more that aren’t absolutely needed at the moment. I also noticed some crutch words I had to take care of. I made decisions on the worldbuilding, as to what needed italicized versus not. Studying Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse novels has helped. As I said, there are other novels I’m looking at as…

Soulless and exiled from Heaven the Dark Knights have not abandoned their duty. For millennia they’ve battled demons, protecting humankind from Lucifer’s servants. Less than a year ago hundreds of demons escaped Hell world-wide, stretching the Knights resources to their limits. Now they face the greatest challenge of all—discovering love.
Breanna Thorn spent the last ten years fighting demons with her twin brother Sam, and she’s damn good at it. But at twenty-three all she really wants is a normal life with dating, college, and quiet. To balance the life she wants and the life she has, Bree studies demons and other supernatural creatures in hopes of better understanding the enemy. When she meets fallen angel Bass, Bree encounters a complication she never saw coming—love.
Bass’ persona of hedonism begins to crumble when he meets Breanna. She’s beautiful, intelligent, a kick-ass fighter and the vessel for his…

Ryanne CloseUp

Hi! I’m Ryanne Anthony, and I’m a woman.
You want more? Okay, okay. I really don’t like writing about myself (go figure) but here we go…
I’m a wife and the mother of two children that sometimes make me want to pull my hair out of my head, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. They are mine, and I made them, carried them and lost what little shape I had doing that. 😉
I am a semi-new author that decided after having several careers, I would listen to what my mind was telling me and write. So I did, and I named my first book ‘Mariah.’ Then I chickened out and put it away. Then I saw a face that made me want to try it again. So I did. I pulled Mariah out, revamped her and was happy with what I did. Then I chickened out again, put…

When his best friend decided to join the Army after high school graduation, there was no question Joel would join too. Best friends since kindergarten, the two of them did everything together, and this was no different. A routine mission changed their lives forever. Slade ended up paralyzed while Joel lost his leg. Joel never expected to live with one leg, but he wasn’t going to let it break him. Like he did with everything else, he adapted, and he accepted that he was never going to find love. Women might want to sleep with a war hero, but they sure as hell don’t want to live with and take care of one. That theory proves true until Courtney comes along. Beautiful, independent Courtney with her wicked sense of humor is the perfect woman for Joel. All he has to do is trust her enough…
